WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I would also call Chicago home, after living there for 9 years.

WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM VACATION BE?
As soon as possible, I would like to visit Cuba.

WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE WOULDN’T GUESS ABOUT YOU?
Before studying Architectural Engineering at CU Boulder, I taught high school Physics for 10 years.

WHAT BOOKS ARE ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?
I definitely enjoy both fiction and non-fiction.  I just finished, “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates and am about to begin “The Summer Book” by Tove Jansson

WHAT’S THE BEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER VISITED?
Growing up, both of my parents were travel agents and they definitely instilled in me a great love of travel.  I’ve been to every continent except Australia and Antarctica and have visited some amazing places.  If I had to choose, one of the most memorable trips was the month that I spent in Egypt – sailing down the Nile on a felucca, swimming in the Red Sea, riding a camel around the pyramids at Giza, and sleeping under the stars in the Western Desert.

WHO IS THE BEST BAND AND TO SEE LIVE?
Again, it is tough to choose only one. The venue is also important – the smaller the better. I was lucky enough see Jeff Buckley, just after he released “Live at Sin-e”. It was an acoustic set in a small coffee shop in Athens, GA. On our way out, we realized that Michael Stipe from R.E.M. was sitting a few tables away.

WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT?
I still miss all the great food in Chicago. If I were there now, I would probably have breakfast at the Lula Café and dinner at Urban Belly.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Spend time with my family. Especially now that we live in Colorado, camping is one of our favorite activities.
