WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
Carpinteria in southern California. “Back in the day” it was a small sleepy beach town. It is known for its avocado orchards and great surfing spots, such as Rincon Point. It is here that I learned to Hobie Cat sail, surf, and windsurf. I love getting back to visit my family, and always wonder why I left such a beautiful place.

WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM VACATION BE?
Heli-skiing the big mountains in British Columbia or Alaska. Sounds like such a dream to drop into powder bowls leaving thousands of vertical feet of fresh tracks without a soul in sight.

WHAT’S THE BEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER VISITED?
London with a friend when I was in high school, such great memories. Peru, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Hiking the Cinque Terre Trail near Vernazza, Italy – such great ocean village scenery!

WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT?
I love trying new places, so I couldn’t possibly have just one favorite. My ultimate favorite foods are sushi or Thai. But a regular staple for me is Mexican with a great margarita, on the rocks with salt of course.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
I love the outdoors, from trail running in South Boulder, skiing, hiking 14ers, biking with the kids, camping, and believe it or not doing yard work. Just getting that fresh Colorado mountain air and sunshine is all I need.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
All my “spare” time is spent with my family. I always enjoy all the fun stuff we do together, being with my three kids as they grow up, and the great relationship with my wonderful wife.
