WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
I spent my first 10 years in the Denver/Aurora area. At the age of 10, my family moved to a small town of 3,000 people, in southeastern Minnesota, called La Crescent.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE AND WHY?
Casablanca.

Reason #1:  One of my favorite fictional characters of all time, Captain Louis Renault.
Reason #2:  As Time Goes By.
Reason #2:  The guy everyone thinks is going to get the girl, does the right thing and doesn't get the girl.

WHAT BOOKS ARE ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?
I typically finish about a book a week on average, and I may have about 5-10 active books at any one time. Therefore, my nightstand is rather cluttered, and I would rather give you a list of my recommended recent completed reads:

"Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania" - Erik Larson
"The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace - Jeff Hobbs
"The Unwinding" - George Packer
"Five Days at Memorial" - Sheri Finn
"The Wright Brothers" - David McCullough
"When Breath Becomes Air" - Paul Kalanithi

WHO IS THE BEST BAND AND TO SEE LIVE?
My most memorable concert was road tripping 8 hours when I was 17 to see Paul McCartney at Cyclone Stadium in Ames, Iowa. Our original seats at the back of the stadium got taken up by last minute addition of speaker clusters, so we got moved to the VIP section right up front. At 17 years old, I got to see a historical icon, from the best seats in the house.

Three of the most memorable recent concerts are:

Roger Waters/The Wall at Wrigley Field
U2 at Soldier Field.
Bruce Springsteen at United Center

WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT?
Goosefoot here in Chicago. If and when I can get a reservation....

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY?
My favorite outdoor activity is probably a tie between golfing and hiking. Living in downtown Chicago makes me appreciate each and every time I can get back out into nature.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Anything food related. My wife and I are avid cooks, and we very much enjoy the robust restaurant scene in Chicago.
